Happy New Year, Jimmy. It’s good to know there is a family blog. We’ve been involved with the Gin Sun Hall Benevolent Association for three generations to varying degrees: my father remembers, as a boy, sorting documentation out in Toishan and sending things to the Clay Street address. This would be soon after its founding, in the 1940s. We visited the building in 2000 and paid our respects.
There is a contingent of us in New Zealand descended from Yan Tung Wan, who came out in the 1970s. Some of his children (my aunts and an uncle) were already out this way. Many blessings to all in the clan.
